    IMMEDIATE SAFETY WARNING:

Loose or looped blind cords pose a severe strangulation risk, particularly to young children. Until the tradesperson attends and confirms compliance, the Renter must ensure that all cords are secured and kept out of reach of children at all times. The Renter is responsible for immediately moving all furniture, cots, beds, and climbable objects away from window coverings to prevent access to cords.

    LIMITATION OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Rental Provider's sole responsibility under the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021 is to arrange for the installation of a suitable cord guide or cleat to secure any loose cord. This process is for Minimum Standard Compliance only and does not constitute a full maintenance or replacement service for the window coverings themselves. The Rental Provider is not responsible for the general wear, tear, or function of the existing blinds.

    POST-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Once the securing device (cleat or guide) is installed, the Renter is responsible for continuously using the device as intended (e.g., winding the cord around the cleat) to ensure the cord remains secured and safe. If the securing device becomes damaged, loose, or ineffective, the Renter must notify the Rental Provider/Agent immediately as this would constitute an urgent repair under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.
